Almost 2 months

The weather is finally improving in Yellowknife and it stays light out longer. We took advantage of that on Saturday and went on a little road trip with some friends to Reid Lake, which is about an hour outside the city. This was our first time out in the wilderness with Colin and he was very content the whole trip. There was a nice playground there so Colin had his first slide. On our way home we stopped to watch some beavers eating - very cute animals.

Saturday was also Yellowknife’s annual garage sale at the multiplex. We spent less than $40 and got a ton of stuff: 30 books, 4 boardgames, 2 playgyms, potty, boots, clothes, volleyball and a badminton set.

Our darling Colin is doing great. He coos and caws every day. Every now and then he lets out a giggle or an excited squeal. He’s gets dry skin all around his head, but olive oil does the trick. He is learning to suck on his fingers. On a side note, we got our little dumpling set up with a RESP.

Happy Mother’s Day!

We had an excellent Mother’s Day. We woke up early and went to Tim’s, church, and then brunch. Colin was well behaved the whole time. Mommy loved the heart necklace and Greatest Mom mug she got.

God answered our prayers and Colin’s blood test results came back with everything ok. Our final midwife appointment will be May 25. Colin’s last weighing was 10 lbs 8 ounces. His jaundice is pretty much all cleared up. He’s got some baby acne and has a double chin from all the eating he has been doing :) Since birth, his head to toe measurement increased from 50 to 57cm. His head measurement increased from 35.5 to 37 cm.

We bought a Chariot stroller and it was well worth the money. The big wheels make it easy to climb stairs and it rides smoothly over rocks. Natasha has been going out for walks more frequently with Colin and he falls asleep very quickly while riding.

Happy 1 Month Colin!

Today marks Colin’s first month in the world. We celebrated with a birthday cake and bought him a new book for a present. He certainly is growing everyday. We notice this in the clothes that doesn’t fit anymore and also that he stretches his body out more. He sleeps longer throughout the night now. We’re very excited to get his professional photos back, which should be in the next week.
